INTRODUCTORY REMARKS: After Monday's record-setting warm temperatures, a cold front came through with mostly rain but finished with some snow from 2,000 feet and up. There is still likely some ice left over above 3,500 feet, and with snow on top hikers will want traction aids this coming weekend. There may be skiable snow from or near the toll house on the Whiteface Highway, but no reports yet. We'll check the Highway and other places and update on Thursday when the weekend weather picture is clearer, but for now it looks like a return to seasonal temperatures for the rest of the week, which means little or no melting of the snow we have on
