I liked the site as it used to be in prior years. There was more information and it was updated more frequently. It is now Dec 27 and the last update was several days ago before it snowed. How much did it snow, what are back country trails like now....

I agree with Paul Smith - it would be great to have the updated conditions posted so that visitors to our area know that we've received at least 20" of new snow, and so the rest of us can find out about conditions at Lake Colden, etc.

The regular updater Tony has been out of town for about two weeks. His "deputy" must be out skiing instead of updating. This situation should improve within a day...
However the snow's deep, skiing's great, but not sure if ice on lakes is safe yet.

Thanks for the info. I and a few buddies are headed up from Pennsylvania next Monday (1/7). Looks like super conditions, I hope it stays cold and snows! Has anyone done the Hays Brook Truck Trail recently?

skied from Avalanche Pass to the dyke on 12/28. Encountered a climber who said she fell through somewhere along the lake, however I believe it was before she climbed, so I don't think it could have been very bad for her to continue with her climb.

Everything I saw was great. Some of the approaches to the alpine stuff is bony, but the touring is awesome right now.
